The River Church seeks to be
A Gospel Community for Newcastle and the North East. Rooted in the Word and Flowing with the Spirit.
What we believe
Word
We believe the Bible is the authoritative Word of God, so we study it, faithfully preach it and let it shape all that we do.
Church
Humans are created for community, with God and with one another. The church community’s purpose is to encourage, challenge and champion one another as we grow to be more like Jesus.
Spirit
Jesus promised in John 14 that our lives would be enriched by his Holy Spirit. We can expect then that by the Spirit we will hear from and encounter God, both in the mundane and the miraculous.
Mission
Matthew 28 calls all Christians to share the good news of Jesus with their friends and neighbours. The River Church has a specific calling within this commission to reach Newcastle and the North East.
