If you’re a young adult or student in Newcastle and are thinking about visiting The River Church, Newcastle we’re so glad you’re here! Being a student is a unique stage of life and we believe God will use these years to shape you and bring His kingdom to the campuses across the city.
It’s so important to have community away from home and we believe the church is built to be a family and we’d love you to be a part of ours. We run regular student and young adult events throughout the year both in Newcastle and with our wider church family to support you doing that and find a place to call home.

One Thing is a discipleship year learning about how to live out the prayer in Psalm 27: “one thing have I asked of the Lord, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord forever”. It’s a year long programme serving Jesus and his church, growing in being His disciple in all aspects of life.
It’s a great way to spend a year after you’ve graduated and are exploring what to do, it’s also perfect for people who aren’t interested in going to university to do at any time.
