Kids (1-11)
Children and families are a core part of The River Church Newcastle, we want people to find their home with us, no matter their age! River Kids runs for all children aged 18 months - 11 every Sunday morning. Children are in the main meeting for the first part of worship as we believe it’s important for our church family to worship as one, and that children are an important part of that.
We believe God meets powerfully with children and that he has unique purpose for them - our River Kids team is passionate about our kids meeting Jesus for themselves. They create an atmosphere that ensures our kids feel safe, have fun and learn about God for themselves. In River Kids children will enjoy play, craft and Bible teaching from our Kids team, as well as make friends and build community with others like them. At the same time, parents can fully engage with God in the main meeting!
There’s no need to do anything before you come, just turn up on Sunday morning. A member of the River Kids team will chat you through everything that happens on the morning and where to drop your child off - look out for their blue t-shirts! You’ll then be able to pick them up after the main meeting finishes at around 12:15.
Older children
We don’t currently have provision in River Kids for older kids, but as our church family grows this is definitely something we will be putting in place and are constantly thinking about how we can do this when the time is right. Children are very welcome to stay in the main meeting, we are a family church.
We want you to know your child is safe. All of our Kids teams are trained and DBS checked. During their training phase, team members are accompanied by a trained & DBS checked team member at all times.
